    • Submit a completed application for the ATANS Technology Program.

    • Pay the required application fee.

Note:

For those who do not hold an accredited diploma, degree, or related education, ATANS will still consider your application. Your qualifications and experience will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Internship Program:

The next step in your journey as an Intern Technologist includes:

  1. Documenting Work Experience:

    • Accumulate at least 3 years of full-time experience or 4,750 hours of work experience in an appropriate architectural setting under the personal supervision and direction of a Supervising Professional who is either an Architectural Technologist or a Licensed Architect in the jurisdiction where the experience is gained.

    • Intern Technologists are required to work on a variety of tasks across at least three different building occupancy types.

  1. Supervising Professional and Mentor:

    • You must have a Supervising Professional and a Mentor throughout your internship period.

  1. Completion of Experience Assessment:

    • Submit a comprehensive report of your experience, detailing your tasks and progress throughout the internship.

  1. Completion of Admission Course:

    • Complete any required admission courses that ATANS mandates for both Accredited Technicians and Technologists.

  1. Pass the ATANS Accreditation Examination:

    • Upon completing the above steps, you must successfully pass the Accreditation Technician/Technologist Examination. This exam evaluates your technical knowledge, professional skills, and understanding of the ethical standards required for the role.

Upon Completion:

Once you have successfully completed the program and met all the requirements, you may apply for the Accredited Architectural Technician or Architectural Technologist designation. ATANS does not offer a license. The designation is for professional recognition and accreditation purposes only.
